Bernie Taupin Exhibition at Galerie Michael
June 7-June 30, 2019
While Bernie Taupin’s worldwide success as Elton John’s lyricist resulted in 35 gold and 25 platinum albums, 30 Top 40 hits in the USA, more than 255 million records sold worldwide, and the record for the biggest-selling single of all time—33 million copies of “Candle in the Wind ’97,” he continued to make his mark across several artistic and cultural mediums, with a worldwide audience.
On June 6, Rodeo Drive’s art gallery, Galerie Michael, opened an exhibition featuring 26 of Taupin’s creations. These 3-D assemblage artworks on canvas, wood panels, and striking life-size sculptures made of barbed wire, padlocks, twine, fabric and plastic illustrate the breadth of this artist’s vast creativity over the past two decades of his visual art focus.
