A fine etching on laid paper with crisp detail. According to New Hollstein Dutch & Flemish, this 17th century impression is a 4th state of 8 (3rd state of 5, according to Hind). This state includes an address update to the publisher Hendrick Uylenburgh’s excudit, which can been seen in the bottom margin to the right of Rembrandt’s signature and the date. This etching also includes a watermark of a Strasbourg lily (Ash- Fletcher n° 36 Cc).
