The man's upper arm, formerly shaded with horizontals, now reworked with cross-hatching with the burin. The area of shadow on the shoulder and chest has also been reworked. Additional shading with short strokes added to the right of the man's hands and to the left side of the stick under his hands. Cross-hatching has been added to the fold of the man's cloak above the woman's purse. A line and some shading added to the right arm of the woman, defining her right elbow. The back has been reworked with the burin, giving it a straight outline. This impression was also trimmed to the plate mark.
